M.A. in Ancient History

The UB Classics Department has implemented a new MA program in Ancient History. It provides an opportunity for students to deepen their knowledge of ancient history, sharpen their skill in ancient historical research, and improve their skills in one or more classical languages, even with no prior training in the languages.  It provides good background for subsequent admission to PhD programs in Classics and History, as well as supplemental and preparatory work for programs in secondary education. Our faculty has a collective mastery of Greek and Roman history from the emergence of Greece to Late Antiquity, as well as the technical expertise required for the modern study of ancient Mediterranean history in the 21st century.  In addition, we have traditionally excelled in the study of Classical Archaeology and Ancient Material Culture, crucial specialties in the contemporary study of ancient history.

Please contact the Director of Graduate Studies for further information, if you are interested in enrolling in this degree program.
