Welcome to the University at Buffalo Department of Classics, long home to innovative research and teaching across the field of classical studies, from archaeology to history to literature. Our program is particularly strong in the areas of Roman Culture, Greek History, Archaeology, and Digital Classics. We offer our students the chance to work side by side with faculty on collaborative projects, including Tesserae, the Hassloch Excavation, the Artifacts Collection and the cutting edge interdisciplinary journal Arethusa.
